FAQ

The questions everyone asks

Mostly asked in a whisper at the door on week one. Here they are in advance.

I've literally never acted. Is that a problem?

It's the whole point. First Night Nerves is an acting class for beginners with no experience. Nervous is grand.

Do I need to prepare a monologue?

Mostly no — the one exception is the Audition Workshop. If you need to prepare anything in advance, we'll let you know well beforehand.

Where exactly are you?

Go On So Studio, Unit B, C3, Donnybrook Commercial Centre, Donnybrook, Douglas, Cork, T12 APN7. Free parking on site, ten minutes from Douglas village and 30 minutes from Cork City Centre on the 207 bus route.

What should I wear?

Something you can move and sit on the floor in. No leotards, we promise.

Can I try before I commit to a course?

Yes — come to a Go On So Session, every Friday 7:30pm–10pm. It's €10 a drop-in, and a quick booking beforehand helps us cap the numbers.

Do you do payment plans?

We do. Any course over €100 can be split across multiple payments. Just ask when you book.

Are your classes for adults only?

For now, yes — all our acting classes, drop-ins and workshops are for adults 18+. Youth and kids programmes may join the timetable from 2027.

Is the studio accessible?

Honestly, not fully. The studio is a first-floor 'loft' space reached by a steep flight of stairs, so it isn't suitable for wheelchair users or anyone who can't manage stairs. Upstairs you'll find the acting studio, a small canteen, a self-taping room and toilets. Tell us what you need and we'll do what we can to help.

Do you offer private acting coaching?

Yes we do! Please reach out directly and Cheryl will be in touch.

Still wondering?

Ask us anything. We answer everything, even the daft ones.
