Real acting training, at your pace

You don't need any experience. You don't need to be confident. You just need to be willing to give it a go.

This is a beginner course, but it's real acting training. Over four weeks you'll learn the foundations of acting through practical exercises, improvisation, character and scene work. We'll start gently, get you out of your head and comfortable in the room, then build week by week towards working on a proper scene with a partner.

You'll learn how to listen and respond, work with a script, make clear choices, understand what your character wants and start putting the basic craft of acting into practice.

Small numbers mean everyone gets to work, nobody gets lost in the crowd and there's plenty of room to try things without worrying about getting them right.

Maybe you've always fancied acting. Maybe you did a bit years ago. Maybe you're just ready to try something new. Whatever brought you here, you're very welcome.

4 weeks · Daytime · Ages 55+ · No experience necessary

Questions? We've got you.

I'm a complete beginner. Is that really okay?
It's the whole point. Everyone in the room is starting from the same place — no experience necessary, no audition, no reading in front of people on day one.
I haven't acted since school. Will I be lost?
Not at all. Plenty of people in the room will be picking it back up after years away. We start gently and build week by week — you'll never be thrown in the deep end.
Why is it daytime?
Because evenings don't suit everyone. The course runs 11am–1pm, so it fits around retirement, shift work, school runs or just a preference for daylight.
What will we actually do?
Practical exercises, improvisation, character and scene work. You'll learn how to listen and respond, work with a script, make clear choices and understand what your character wants — then build towards rehearsing a proper scene with a partner.
Is the studio accessible?
Honestly, not fully. The studio is a first-floor 'loft' space reached by a steep flight of stairs, so it isn't suitable for anyone who can't manage stairs. Tell us what you need and we'll do what we can to help before you book.
What should I wear?
Something you can move and sit on the floor in. No leotards, we promise.
